The best way to improve

If you want to improve your riding, there’s nothing like a race to learn something new and push yourself. We don’t force anyone to do so, and our group of riders or very understanding of beginners and respect the speed difference.

To go racing though, you need a few additional things done to your bike

Both caliper bolts, whether it’s axial or radial, needs to be drilled and positively lock wired. That means the wire needs to be run from one bolt to the other, and create tension directly in the opposite side of the direction the bolt unscrews.

That way, if the bolt starts to come lose, the wire will tension and prevent it from turning further. You want to make sure front, and rear calipers are lock-wired. The rear caliper can just be wired from one end of the pin to the next, no need to be drilled. You can also buy after market bolts for your front caliper already drilled from ProBolt

Any bolt sealing a fluid channel should be drilled and lock-wired. That usually means :

  • Oil Sump
  • Oil filter cover
  • Oil pourer cap
  • Radiator cap

Again, you can buy already drilled sump and bolts from Pro-Bolt, or drill it yourself and lock wire it. It needs to be wired to the frame or something solid with no play

A Back Protector is mandatory for racing events. It protects your back and is a safety requirement. MX boots are also highly recommended to protect your leg and ankle
